The data transfer amount on your allocated network drop.
ColoUnlimited does not limit the amount of data transfer for your bandwidth plan. Single server plans include 10 Mbps of bandwidth while partial or full cabinets are allocated 100 Mbps of bandwidth. You can use 1 Mbps or all allocated Mbps. ColoUnlimited does not impose any predefined limits within your bandwidth plans. Unlike other providers, we do not arbitrarily throttle your connection and do not require you to use less bandwidth than is fully available on your plan.
There is no data transfer limit up to the bandwidth plan that you have purchased. We also do not throttle your connection to a slower rate then what you have purchased. We have the word unlimited in our name for a reason.
We like the sound of ColoUnlimited much better. You can, however, also reach us via www.ColoUnmetered.com.
The ColoUnlimited network is powered by a minimum of 2-providers (AboveNet and Global Crossing) for our unmetered mesh and a minimum of 4-providers (ATT, Level 3, AboveNet, and Global Crossing) for our burstable mesh.
You can test our network connectivity by performing traceroutes from our network to your location at this link.
Absolutely! Our data center is staffed 24/7 to provide you with assistance at any hour should you need it. We offer free remote hands and eyes as well as have network-based KVM units available for use.
ColoUnlimted will provide remote hands and eyes services as Customer reasonably requests via trouble ticket (CoreControl) consisting of basic hard server reboots, insertion of CDs in a co-located server, and entering basic commands locally (per customer's instructions), with such hands and eye services not to exceed fifteen minutes of work per request.
Please visit our Support Services page for more details.
You will be presented with a "service commencement date" option during the check-out process. This service commencement date will be your install date and the date that we use for your monthly billing cycle. Your initial payment during the order process will pay for your first month's payment. Your next payment would be due a month following the service commencement date.
ColoUnlimited's enterprise-class service level agreement offers both a network availability commitment and a power uptime commitment. We commit to deliver at least 99.9% uptime on our IP network that is available to all colocation customers. Our power availability commitment is 100% for those customers with dual sourced redundant (A/B) power feeds and 99.9% for customers with single power feeds. A copy of the terms and provisions of our service level agreement is available in the service ordering process.
Colocation can be a substantial money saver for savvy hosters. You pay only the hardware’s base costs and avoid markups by middlemen and service providers. You can also buy exactly what you need and not be forced into servers that are incompatible with your applications.
We allow Full Cabinet and Half Cabinet customers physical access to the data center.
In order to offer single server colocation at our rates, your server(s) will share a cabinet among other customers. To better protect your equipment and data, we do not allow customer access to shared cabinets. Only ColoUnlimited staff members may get physical access to these cabinets. There is, however, a workspace available for your use within the general facility just outside of the data center.
ColoUnlimited leverages its strong vendor relationships, economies of scale with third party service providers, and operational efficiencies that we have engineered based on our team's many years of experience in the colocation and network services industries.
You are welcome to bring in your own dedicated bandwidth provider to supplement our bundled bandwidth, as long as that provider has a presence in our data center. Currently the available carriers within our Connection data center consist of AboveNet, Verizon, and SBC. If you have other specific provider choices, please contact us.
ColoUnlimited offers unlimited colocation bandwidth capabilities with all of our partial or full cabinet plans which include a dedicated 100 Mbps port. With our unmetered colocation services, you can use all 100 Mbps without fear of overage fees. To handle heavier traffic demands, our full cabinet and half cabinet bundles can be upgraded to 1,000 Mbps (1 Gigabit) in 100 Mbps increments. Plans featuring over 100 Mbps will be provisioned on a 1,000 Mbps port and rate limited to plan level. We also offer colocation bandwidth upgrades of 5,000 and 10,000 Mbps if requested. As our COO would say, "we have all the net you need!"
Single server plans include a 100 Mbps port configured at 10 Mbps. An upgrade to the full 100 Mbps is available.
Half-Cab and Full-Cab customers are provided one dedicated 20 amp 120 volt circuit by default. Power upgrades are also available. If you do not see the power configuration you need on the order form, please contact us.
Single Server solutions are provided one outlet and 2 amps of power.
A full cabinet contains 42-U of cabinet space. A half cabinet contains 21-U of cabinet space. Each U of cabinet space is the equivalent of 1.75 inches in height. Our cabinets are the standard 19" wide and 36" deep. The rail mounts are 32.75" from front to back at it's furthest distance.
Single server solutions are provided with 2U (3.5") of height.
We offer Single Server, Half Cabinet, and Full Cabinet solutions. You can order multiple quantities of each product.
For Full Cabinet and Half Cabinet accounts, we can accommodate up to 10,000 Mbps (10 Gigabits). You can upgrade your network speed at any time. The amount of data that you can transfer up to your Mbps plan is unlimited.
We also offer many custom power configurations. Please contact us with your requirements.
If you need an even larger or a custom configuration, you can get in touch with a CoreXchange sales representative at sales@corexchange.com.
ColoUnlimited offers several different power choices to choose from. The primary circuit is the first circuit (power strip) in your cabinet with a capacity of 20 amps at 120 volts (most devices use this type of circuit). A 208 volt circuit with 30 Amps of capacity is typically used in high-end servers or power hungry devices. Please note that a device designed for 120 volt operation will not work on a 208 volt circuit, as it will burn out the power supply. Please ensure that your devices support 208 volt if you select this option.
The optional secondary circuit is the second circuit (power strip) in your cabinet. This secondary circuit can be used for extra capacity or if you require rendundancy. There are two types of secondary circuits, an "A" and a "B". Each label denotes a specific PDU (power distribution unit) and UPS (uninterruptible power supply) systems the circuits are sourced from. If you simply need more power capacity without redundancy, you can use two "A" circuits from a single UPS system. If you require more redundancy, you can order an "A" circuit on one UPS system and one "B" circuit from another UPS system. Selecting this choice will upgrade your power SLA from 99.9% to 100%. SLA is only applicable if power consumption does not exceed eighty percent (80%) for single or forty percent (40%) for A/B redundant configurations. All Customer equipment and cabling must be UL approved. Please refer to our SLA for terms and conditions.
With our 120 volt 20 amp circuits, we include a 12-outlet 0-U vertically mounted PDU for full-cabinets and a 1-U 12-outlet horizontally mounted PDU for half-cabinets.
We do not include a PDU for circuits that are 30 amps or 208 volt. Customers requesting these circuits often have specific equipment in mind.

Yes! All power in the data center is conditioned and protected by two (expanding to 8) 750 KVA UPS systems along with a redundant bank of three (expanding to 6) 1.5 MW Cummins generators managed by on-site facility engineers. Click here to learn more about our data center.
For single server solutions, we do not require rails. We pre-install use generic rails in our cabinets. We just require that your server be rackmountable. If your server is not in a rackmount case (for example, a Mac Mini), there is a one time fee of $80 to provide for a shelf.
We do not require Full Cabinet and Half Cabinet customers to install rails or use rack-mountable servers; however, it is a good idea to do so.
With our single server colo offering, we can only accept 2U or smaller rack-mountable servers. We can accommodate a 4U for a small fee. Some mid towers have optional rack-mount kits that allow the servers to be rack-mounted on its side. If your server can fit within 4U on its side but does not have an optional rack-mount kit, you may rent a shelf from us for a small fee. You may order Full Cabinet and Half Cabinet solutions that will accommodate rack-mounted servers in addition to tower servers.
Yes. There is a small fee for single server solutions that require a firewall or VPN to cover the space and power required. There is no extra fee for Full Cabinet and Half Cabinet bundles (as they include space, power, and cooling).
Our currently stated discounted rate for the colocation of your firewall/VPN appliances assumes that any such device will share the bandwidth with the collocated server(s).
Even though a firewall or VPN device is typically smaller than a server and there is no extra bandwidth allocated for it, it still requires space, power, and cooling in our data center. You can always upgrade to a Full Cabinet or Half Cabinet plan and avoid these firewall or VPN fees.
We are the most flexible when it come to contract terms. We offer several plans including month-to-month, single-year and multiple-year terms.
Yes! We provide bandwidth usage graphs for your server with the Online Customer Portal.
